Zontar, the Thing from Venus (1966) is a low-budget science fiction film directed by Larry Buchanan. The story follows a scientist, Dr. Keith Ritchie (Anthony Huston), who aids an alien from Venus named Zontar in its mission to “help” humanity. However, Zontar’s true intentions are sinister, as it begins to control humans and create chaos. Ritchie’s colleague, Dr. Curt Taylor (John Agar), must stop the alien menace before it’s too late. A remake of It Conquered the World (1956), the film is known for its campy charm, minimal effects, and status as a cult classic in 1960s B-movie sci-fi.
