Dancing Pirate (1936) is a musical adventure film directed by Lloyd Corrigan. The story follows Jonathan Pride (Charles Collins), a Boston dance teacher in the 1820s who is mistakenly kidnapped by pirates and taken to a small coastal town in Spanish California. There, he becomes embroiled in a series of comedic and romantic escapades, including a budding romance with the mayor’s daughter, Serafina (Steffi Duna). Featuring lively dance numbers and swashbuckling fun, it is notable for being one of the first musical films shot in Technicolor.
